Owen MONTAGUE

In addition to being a Principal Dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, Owen Montague enjoyed an international career as a dancer with such prestigious companies as the Netherlands Dance Theatre, Aterballetto, Ballet BC, and Alberta Ballet. He was a bronze medalist at the first USA International Ballet Competition and a silver medalist at the fourth International Ballet Competition in Moscow, USSR. Owen Montague also received a bursary from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Peter Dwyer Scholarship.

Over a 17-year span, Owen worked as an independent artist, exploring his interests in choreography, photography, and costume design for performance and artistic productions. For seven years, he served as a Senior Professor in the Professional Program and as Choreographer in Residence at Ballet Divertimento in Montreal.

He is currently an Associate Professor in the Dance Program within the Music Department at Kobe Jogakuin College in Japan.
